Prepared by Richard Rice, this wonderfully useful book collects the authentic Gregorian Communion Antiphons from the Proper of the Mass, along with the Psalms appropriate to each, covering the Sundays and Solemnities of the Church Year for both the current Roman Missal, which uses the modern calendar with its three-year cycle, and the antiphons for the 1962 Roman Missal, following the traditional calendar. These 110 chants are immaculate, verbatim recreations of those found in the Solesmes editions, and they cover Masses that are most likely to be performed throughout the year, such as significant feasts (in both old and new forms), as well as the most important seasonal and ritual Masses (Ash Wednesday, Nuptial Mass, etc.). Psalm verses in notated editions are supplied for each Communion antiphon, as recommended by the Church. These verses are sung in between antiphon repetitions.
