This deluxe two-disc DVD of the epic film by Mel Gibson is a great addition to any Catholic’s movie collection. Featuring a behind-the-scenes documentary, another documentary on the life of Christ, deleted scenes, two versions of The Passion, commentary from Gibson and the writers, production art and trailers, historic images of Christ, and much more!

Though The Passion has been praised by Catholic leaders for its reverence and artistic excellence, some commentators for this DVD hold theological positions that the Catholic Church finds problematic.

The Passion of the Christ Definitive Edition DVD
(USA) | January 28th, 2021
Excellent telling of the last 12 hours of Jesus's holy passion & death movie that was directed by Mel Gibson, Screen play by Mel Gibson Actor Jim Caviezel protrayed Jesus of Nazerth. Jesus while in the garden of Gatsemenee prays to have this cup pass before him only if this will be his father's will in heaven. The movie opens with Jesus in the garden on the ground with his disciples & one by one they begin to fall asleep on him. Till the roman soldiers come to arrest him for crimes against Rome, inciting inserrection, so he is captured by the roman soldiers who come with torches in the dead of night to arrest our lord, bring him to the place where he is held captive, brought before three un just judges, Piolit, King Herod, Take him away! He it's guility of any crime Herod said, "He's just crazy! " Take him back to Rome to Pilot and let him judge him. & so it went on, & on, till finally governor of Rome Pilot decided to release to the Jews one prisoner during the festival. Whom do you want me to release to you Jesus of Nazerth or Barabbas the Murderer. The answer came quickly, The crowd said" Release Barabas to us. A small gathering said Release Jesus off Nazerth. But, the much bigger crowd & louder crowd over shouted them. Pilot then said "What shall I do with your King?" The answer came back to Pilot. Crusify him, Crusify him! Pilot, was shocked by their response. He said Nay, I shall chastise him & then set him free. But, Pilot later on thought that they're might be an up rising in the Jewish community, so he decided to have Jesus the son of god put to death on a wodden cross that would be errected on Mount Calvary as an example to all who dared to oppose the Roman Empire. & the money changers made sure that this so called trouble maker was put to death. Shows all most every thing that happened to our lord from being flogged & tied up to a pillar, & almost flogged to death, his being spat on, punched in the face, spit on, kicked a few times, mocked, then punched, then, spit on, a black eye, being brought before Pilot to be judged, before being put to death on a cross. This is a very graphic depiction of Christ's crusification by the roman soldiers at Mont Calvery for all of our sins of man kind. I highly do reccommend buying & seeing this film. Not for young viewers who may be frightened in this graphic, but truelly aunthentic portrayal of Christ Jesus's 12 last hours on this earth. Shows Judas's betrayal kiss in the garden so the soldiers know who to arrest at night. Very sad, but, very worth while watching. This movie will increase your faith & christian beliefs.
