Each session of group study should include video viewing and group discussion of Study Guide questions. Before the small group discussion, participants should read the commentary in the study guide and prepare questions. This preparation can be done before or after watching the video.

Bishop Barron's Seven Deadly Sins Seven Lively Virtues correspond to the seven levels of Dante's Mt. Purgatory, according to Dante's writings. Pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, avarice, and lust are all presented as dysfunctional patterns within us that lead to unhappiness.

Bishop Barron, on the other hand, demonstrates how to counteract these seven sinful patterns through a conscious process of opposition, which he refers to as the "seven lively virtues." The seven vibrant virtues provide antidotes to each sin and help us find our way to healing and happiness.
