Carlo Acutis, an Italian born in 1991, was recognised for his profound Catholic faith and love of computer programming. He spent most of his brief life to sharing the message of the Eucharist via his numerous charitable deeds and his own website, which he developed. Carlo was afflicted with leukaemia at the age of 15, and he devoted his sufferings to God, attending Mass and praying till his death in 2006. He was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2020 and is seen as an example of holiness for today's youth. As a nod to his computer programming experience, our sock contains his statement "Not me, but God," printed in binary code (a computer coding method).
