St. Stanislaus Papczynski Gems: Daily Wisdom from the Founder of the Marians

Through his writings, St. Stanislaus of Jesus and Mary Papczyński (1631-1701), Founder of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, shows us what it means to be fervent, zealous sons and daughters of the Immaculate Conception. He shows us what patriotism is, for he was a chaplain for the armies of the Polish king Jan Sobieski, and contributed to Polish culture and education in his day. He shows us what it means to be a Christian even in the hardest of times, for the land he loved was undergoing invasions, illnesses, and other hardships. He shows us what it is to love Jesus and Mary more than life itself, more than comfort, titles, honors, or worldly achievements. He shows us the faith, hope, and love of a servant of God, of the sort of person who truly, properly loves God and neighbor.

May this daily devotional, the latest in the Gems series from Fr. Donald H. Calloway, MIC, help you love St. Stanislaus Papczyński as a spiritual father, and may it contribute to growing interest by the Church in the United States in this champion of her Patroness, the Immaculate Conception.
