Baptism, Confirmation, the Eucharist, Reconciliation, the Anointing of the Sick, Matrimony, and Holy Orders—the Church's sacraments—have survived for thousands of years and structured innumerable lives. Everything in the life of the Church stems from them and returns to them.

But there is far more to these ancient rites than meets the eye.

In this follow-up to The Mass series, Bishop Robert Barron examines the Church's great sacraments in all their theological depth, spiritual effects, and pastoral promise. The Sacraments will help you understand these signs and channels of grace, as well as the secret to their persistence through the ages: the presence and power of the Savior himself.

The Facilitator's Guide, all six lessons from the participant's Study Guide, and an Answer Key for the Questions for Understanding are all included in the Leader's Guide. The Facilitator's Guide explains how to organize, publicize, and present the study. Each workbook has a soft-to-the-touch matte finish that is non-glare and scuff-resistant. Its flat binding is both sturdy and sleek, ensuring that it will withstand many uses while also looking elegant on your bookshelf.

You can present the program in six or seven 60-90 minute sessions for group study. Each session should include a viewing of a video and a group discussion of the Study Guide questions. All study coordinators and group facilitators are welcome to sign up for free training webinars.

Each lesson in the Guide contains extensive commentary on Bishop Barron's video as well as "Questions for Understanding." "based on the video, Scripture, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The “Questions for Application" in each lesson aid in connecting the material to our own lives and experiences.

Andrew Petiprin, a Fellow of Popular Culture at the Word on Fire Institute, created this study program. He is a former Anglican cleric and author who entered full communion with the Catholic Church on January 1, 2019. He graduated from Yale University with an M.Div. and Oxford University with an M.Phil.
