John Paul II was born in Wadowice, Poland on May 18, 1920 as Karol Józef Wojtya. Not only was he known for his influential papacy from 1978 until his death in 2005, but he was also charismatic and had a cool personality. In addition to his religious duties, Pope John Paul II demonstrated a deep appreciation for diverse art forms and cultures. Notably, his admiration for the Marvel comic book character Spider-Man gained widespread recognition. The Pope found comfort in Spider-Man's maxim, "With great power comes great responsibility." The extraordinary life of Pope John Paul II even inspired the creation of a comic book titled "Karol Wojtya: The Life of Pope John Paul II"
